Workshop for the restitution of the results of the capacity building of the public health laboratories: competence and future through the accreditation of the laboratories of the INRSP according to standards ISO 17025 and 15189Workshop for the restitution

At the end of accompanying the ACP-EU TBT program to the INRSP for the accreditation of its laboratories according to ISO / IEC 17025 and 15189, a restitution workshop is organized on 31/01/2017 at the Royal Suites Hotel in Nouakchott.

The opening of the workshop is chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health Ahmed Ould Sid'Ahmed Ould Dié in the presence of the Secretaries General of the Ministries of Economy and Finance, Trade in Industry and Tourism, Livestock and Environment and Sustainable Development.

The workshop was also attended by representatives of the PTFs and the directors of the health department.

In his speech, INRSP Director Dr. Mohamed Brahim Elkory pointed out that accreditation (formal recognition of competences) has become a requirement in developed countries because it constitutes the certainty of the quality of the product or service provided. It has thus become one of the key factors in overcoming technical barriers to trade.

Based on the importance of accreditation, the National Institute for Public Health Research (INRSP) has decided, in collaboration with its technical and financial partners, to register since 2014 in an accreditation process according to ISO standards / IEC 17025 and 15189, to accredit its food, water and medical biology laboratories.

It is within this framework and after the first support of the Centers of Excellence of the European Unions in 2014 that the TBT Program financed a request to support the project for accreditation of the INRSP laboratories for an intense period of 4 months.

During the day, presentations on the competences acquired by the INRSP laboratories during the accompanying of the TBT-ACP-EU program.

The closing ceremony of this workshop is marked by delivering of the training certificates to the INRSP staff participating in the training courses developed within the framework of this project.
