Monitoring the respiratory system viruses in humans and animals

In the context of collaboration between the national public health research institute INRSP and Naval Medical Research Unit 3 (NAMRU-3) and the centers for disease control and prevention CDC, to establish a study about the front line human and animal viruses ,

An expert expedition from NAMRU3 visited the national public health research institute INRSP between 25th to  29th September 2016.

 

Expeditions program:

-       Visiting and evaluating the health care authorities in the northern state of Nouakchott.

-       Identifying the tow trial sites to start the monitoring study of the respiratory system diseases among people living with cattle (the health center in Toujounine and Al saada health center).

-       Training the staff in both sites to identify the case, collect, store, and to transport the samples to INRSP.

 

In his opening speech of the seminar, the director of INRSP Dr. Mohamed Brahim Elkory pointed out that this activity comes within “one health” approach that aims to rising the level of detection and response to the public health events in compliance with the International Health Regulations (RSI 2005).
