Participation of a part of the INRSP during regional training on capacity building for the Ebola virus disease diagnosis (EVD) by molecular methods September 19th-23rd 2016, Entebbe, Uganda


As a part of strengthening INRSP's staff capacities in the field of diagnosis of Ebola disease, a part of the INRSP participated in regional training on the IAEA , EVD by molecular methods, held in Entebbe (Uganda) from September 19th-23rd 2016.

This course is within the scope of project activities C7-RAF-0042-004/16 set up by the International Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA).

 The official opening ceremony was chaired by the head of CDC Uganda attended by participants from 09 countries and staff of the Institute of Uganda Virus Research.

 During the five days of training participants were built on:

* VHF Monitoring and Diagnostics;

* Practical work / exercises: Entebbe Grade B Hospital;

* Laboratory of VHF, EVD: suspect samples and Molecular Diagnostics;

* EVD / VHF diagnosis, QA/QC, Delivery, Validation External/Confirmation.

The participants carried out practical work in the laboratories of molecular diagnosis of hemorrhagic fever.

The closing ceremony of that training workshop was noticed by awarding certificates to those who participated.
