INRSP Development of Staff on the Molecular Biology Technique (PCR) and the Importance of Biosecurity in the Laboratory

As part of the implementation of One Health Project activities involving INRSP / CDC / IQLS / ASLM, Arnaud ORELLE specialist laboratories and expert IQLS runs in the meeting room of the INRSP from 22 to 03/25/2016 a training workshop on molecular biology (RT-PCR) and the importance of Biosecurity in favor virology laboratory staff of the National Institute for Research in Public Health (INRSP).

During this workshop participants will receive theoretical presentations and practical sessions in order to strengthen national technical capacities in the field of molecular diagnosis of viral hemorrhagic fevers.

This activity is part of improving the detection and response to epidemics due to hemorrhagic fevers that circulate in the subregion.

This technical training, second of its kind, aims to improve the performance of the RT-PCR machine recently acquired on state budget as well as epidemiological surveillance of potentially epidemic diseases to ensure proper management of cases suspects under the International health Regulations (IHR 2005).

The INRSP envisaged in its Action Plan in 2016 to perform several technical training for its staff in order to fulfill the conditions of its accreditation project of its laboratories in accordance with ISO 17025 and 15189 standards.
