Evaluation Workshop for Public Health Laboratory Networks in Mauritania

As part of improving disease surveillance and the implementation of the International Health Regulations (IHR), a one health project was approved and funded by the CDC / Atlanta (USA) for a period of five years. This project involves the INRSP / CDC / IQLS / ASLM. An inception workshop of the project activities took place on 27 January 2016 to Monotel Nouakchott.

Following the technical discussion meetings during the launching workshop, a first mission of IQLS expert visited Mauritania from 07 to 11/03/2016 for evaluation of the system of laboratory networks public health Mauritania to strengthen epidemiological surveillance at national level.

Representatives of reference laboratories structures INRSP, the National Hospital and peripheral laboratories present the workshop.

During this evaluation visits were made to all reference labs INRSP, to laboratory NCH and a peripheral laboratory in Nouakchott.

The evaluation was made using the improved WHO tool with different levels of the public health laboratory network
